COURTHOUSE PROGRESS DEPENDS ON VIEW
Full Description:
The back is further along, and the inside is ahead of schedule.
What looks like slow going on the courthouse expansion in Green Cove Springs is a two-sided story.
In the front, along U.S. 17, the building appears to be only a shell. But in the back, along Palmetto Avenue, the pre-cast red brick veneer is in place.
The addition to the courthouse is on schedule for outside work and six weeks ahead for inside work, project Superintendent Walt Forster of Elkins Constructors of Jacksonville said last week. Work should be "substantially completed" by Oct. 26, with completion predicted to be on Nov. 21. Move-in should be by January 2008, Forster said.
