Full Description:
St James is a mission congregation of the Anglican Church in America (ACA), which is part of the international Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC). We are a constituent of the Diocese of the Eastern United States (DEUS) of the ACA.
As of last November, the member provinces of the TAC have been in the implementation stage of a plan of reunion with the Mother Church of all Western Christian denominations, the Roman Catholic Church, and St. James will be in the near future a member of the Anglican Catholic Ordinariate whereby Anglicans may retain distinctive aspects of their spiritual and religious patrimony, while enjoying full communion with the See of St. Peter.
We will conduct our Grand Opening Eucharist on the feast of St. James, July 25, 2010 at the facilities of the Parish of the Sacred Heart on Palmetto Ave. in Green Cove Springs, near the intersection of state roads 17 and west 16. All service times will be at 11 a.m. on that day and thereafter, with a Sunday school in the planning stage. Worship beginning on Sunday, August 1, 2010 will consist of a traditional Anglican service of morning prayer, with sermon, three Sundays a month, with a monthly service of Holy Communion celebrated by a visiting priest from the diocese.
